Sri Lanka: Buddhist Monks Threaten Christian Gathering

According to VOM, 15 Buddhist monks and 35 community members descended on a church in Nivithigala, in southeastern Sri Lanka, to confront a group of Christians who had gathered for Bible study. They threatened the Christians and demanded that the pastor stop conducting worship services in the area. They also demanded that the church remove any banners or other materials with Bible verses from the church and told the pastor he could not invite outsiders to the village. The mob threatened to return the following if the pastor did not comply.
